Where did 33 cfm per outlet come from?

In the past, Unico recommended having 5 outlets per ton, which equates to 40 cfm per outlet (200 cfm / 5 outlets). However, it was found that at this airflow rate, the outlets produced noise. To address this issue, the airflow was reduced until the outlets became quiet, which occurred at approximately 33 cfm per outlet. Therefore, Unico now suggests having 6 outlets per ton, resulting in 33 cfm per outlet (200 cfm / 6 outlets).

It is important to note that the Unico system is designed for 250 cfm per ton. The possibility of having 200 cfm per ton is limited to moist climates, where the condensing moisture provides enough heat to the coil to maintain suction pressure above freezing.
