What is and why use sound attenuator tubing?

The core of the sound attenuator tubing is composed of spun nylon, which is then covered with insulation and an outer jacket made of Mylar. The purpose of the Mylar is to act as a vapor barrier and maintain the pressure inside the duct.

If the sound level at the outlet is a significant concern, it is essential to utilize the sound attenuator. To prevent the occurrence of air noise, it is recommended to use a minimum of 3 feet of sound attenuator tubing before the outlet.

The attenuator tubing is available in 12-foot lengths, and if desired, the full length can be utilized.
